On the evening of October 8, 2024, Cognitact Limited successfully hosted the free-of-entry public health talk at the Hong Kong Central Library. The seminar attracted nearly 300 attendees and received an enthusiastic response. The company was honored to have Prof. Wong Ka Sing, a specialist in neurology, and Dr. Lo See Kit, a specialist in geriatric medicine, as guest speakers. They delivered a fascinating lecture titled "Decoding Dementia - Cutting-Edge Detection Tools and Latest Treatment Breakthroughs" to the audience.
The talk revolved around the topic of Alzheimer's disease, providing detailed explanations of the disease's definition, the current challenges in diagnosis, the limitations of existing diagnostic tools, and the application prospects of innovative blood-based protein biomarker detection technology in early detection. Additionally, the specialists introduced the current drug treatment options and elaborated on the multifaceted treatment strategies and preventive measures for Alzheimer's disease.
The purpose of this talk is to promote health knowledge related to dementia and Alzheimer's disease, raising awareness of Alzheimer’s disease among the public, especially the elderly population.
